Prelistaj knjigo

Knjiga je zelo zanimiva vsaj iz treh vidikov: prvič, dokumentirano govori o tem, da je nekdanja skupna država skušala po koncu druge svetovne vojne čim prej normalizirati meje s svojimi sosedami Italijo, Avstrijo in Madžarsko. V teh odnosih s sosedami je namenjala veliko pozornost tudi urejanju številnih obmejnih vprašanj, prizadevala si je za vzpostavitev čim bolj tesnih in vsestransko koristnih odnosov. Drugič, Socialistična republika Slovenija je imela pri odnosih s temi tremi sosedami pomembno vlogo, tako pri oblikovanju zvezne politike do njih, pri pobudah kot tudi v njenem izvajanju. Zvezni organi so skoraj redno iskali njeno mnenje o morebitnih korakih do sosednjih držav, precej so upoštevali njena stališča in argumente, tako da v odnosih do sosedov nikakor ni bila samo pasivni opazovalec, ampak je bila znatna njena dejanska vloga v oblikovanju politike do posameznih vprašanj obmejnega sodelovanja.. Tretjič: sam avtor je praktično 30 let aktivno in neposredno sodeloval pri urejanju obmejne problematike, kot član ali vodja različnih delegacij, kot načelnik Urada Izvršnega sveta za zunanje zadeve in kot svetovalec Izvršnega sveta. Po svoje je občudovanja vredno, da je vodstvo takratne Slovenije uvidelo potrebo, naj obmejna vprašanja v daljšem časovnem obdobju spremlja ena in ista oseba. Zaupali so mu to nalogo in mu zaupanje izkazovali ter ga pri njegovem delu politično podpirali. Pisec se predstavlja kot odličen poznavalec obmejne problematike, saj ima praktično pri vsakem vprašanju tudi svoje dolgoletne osebne izkušnje in stališča do njih.
