Delo obravnava vprašanja vojaške logistike, tako teoretično, kot z umestitvijo v historično dimenzijo - s proučitvijo logistike oboroženih sil Nemčije v obdobju med leti 1933 in 1945.
V prvem delu monografije avtor najprej teoretično osvetli področje vojaške logistike v okviru logistike in pokaže pot njenega preraščanja iz podporne vloge v okviru oskrbe vojske v kompleksen podsistem vojaškega delovanja, ki je nujen za vojaško operativno sposobnost. Drugi del je namenjen kompleksni analizi problemov logističnega sistema nemške vojske v času od konca weimarske republike do konca druge svetovne vojne. V njem je analitično presodil posamezne sestavne dele tega sistema, njihovo vlogo in videnje v nemški vojaški strategiji in operatiki, ki je dolgo temeljila na t.i. bliskoviti vojni. Ugotovil je, da je nova operativna zamisel v marsičem temeljila na dotedanji zasnovi logistike, povzeti iz obdobja weimarske republike, ki je temeljila na kombinaciji železniškega daljinskega transporta in motornega v območju vojaških operacij, ki pa je spričo nezadostnih kapacitet ostajal ozko grlo. K temu je nemški logistični sistem obremenjevalo razdeljeno vodenje logističnega sistema po posameznih komponentah in rodovih oboroženih sil. Takšna logistična zasnova je odpovedala prav v tistih situacijah, ko je nemška vojska dosegala velike uspehe, s čemer pa se je zaradi velikih razdalj enormno povečala logistična obremenitev. Z dvema študijama primerov, napadom na Sovjetsko zvezo in vojskovanjem nemške vojske v Severni Afriki, je nazorno podkrepil svoje ugotovitve.
