Pričujoča urbanistična študija je v prvi vrsti prepričljiv pedagoški projekt, ki ima poleg metodološke tudi močno vrednostno orientacijo. Podaja alternativo aktualnemu pogajalskemu urbanizmu, ki se ne ravna po načrtovani zasnovi  dejavnosti in rab, razporejenih po načelu primernosti, ampak se pogosto omejuje le na izvajanje  postopkov za uresničevanje različnih investicijskih pobud. Te se ne usklajujejo niti med seboj, niti s prostorom, kjer se udejanjajo. V tem pogledu je študija koristna tudi za širšo strokovno javnost, ki je pristojna za urejanje prostora. Na drugi strani nam študija pokaže  pomanjkljivosti prostorskega načrta in daje uporabne odgovore na nekatera ključna vprašanja razvoja mesta, ki so bila do sedaj spregledana. Sodobna Ljubljana se je namreč dalj časa razvijala brez jasno postavljenih strateških usmeritev, ki bi lahko obvladale razprševanje mesta in še posebej samodejno zazidavo v predmestjih.  Študija se povsem sklada s ključnimi usmeritvami trajnostne preobrazbe mesta, ki temeljijo na notranjem razvoju in razpršeni koncentraciji. Nastala je v času, ko se pogled na urejanje Ljubljane preusmerja k aktiviranju še neizkoriščenih potencialov za prenovo mesta, s katerim se bodo najprej zapolnile vrzeli v različnih omrežjih infrastrukture.  Študija prav tako potrjuje eno od zamisli dolgoročnega razvoja Ljubljane  o krajinskem mestu med dvema rekama.  S tem se potrjuje tudi njen širši strokovni pomen.
