Avtorji posameznih poglavij so študenti mednarodnih odnosov UL FDV in izmenjalni študenti z Univerze v Radboudu na Nizozemskem ter Univerze britanske Kolumbije v Vancouvru, Kanadi. Notranji vidiki okolijske politike EU so ponujeni v treh poglavjih o študijah primerov izvajanja politike EU v njenih državah članicah, in sicer: o biološki raznolikosti v Sloveniji (Nuša Muršič v poglavju 2), energetska samozadostnost in zanesljivost oskrbe v Sloveniji (Martina Furlan, Ina Pantner Volfand in Iris Šömen v poglavju 3) ter sistemi ravnanja z odpadki v Romuniji (poglavje 5 Leah van Oorschot in Brooke Sutherland). Katja Miklavčič in Sofia Proni Iglič ponudita pregled politično spornih učinkov tehnologije zajemanja in shranjevanja ogljikovega dioksida kot vidika zmanjševanja obsega negativnih klimatskih sprememb. V zadnjih treh poglavjih pa knjiga zajema analize zunanjega delovanja EU v okviru mednarodnega okolijskega režima. Elemente mehke moči okolijske politike EU na primeru strateškega partnerstva med EU in Brazilijo analizirata Ajda Hedžet in Dora Matejak (poglavje 6), Magdalena Rakovec in Samo Smole raziščeta vlogo EU v okolijskih politikah Arktičnega sveta (poglavje 7), nenazadnje pa Ana Klemen in Patrik Bole preverita sodelovanje EU z Afriko na področju energetike (poglavje 8).

This book is a result of Jean Monnet Module-based course on the European Union (EU) domestic and external environmental policies, which was implemented at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Slovenia, during 2016-2019. It offers sate of the art of the current debates on environmental issues in world politics, exposing the policies and global role of the EU respectfully.

The book editors are Module coordinator Assoc. prof. dr. Ana Bojinović Fenko and module teaching assistant dr. Danijel Crnčec, whereas individual chapter authors are International Relations students of the above home University and exchange students from the Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands and University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Katja Miklavčič and Sofia Proni Iglič offer an overview of politically disputable effects of Carbon Capture Storage technology as an aspect of climate change mitigation. Finally, the EU’s external action in the field of environmental protection is analysed in three book chapters. The soft power aspect of EU’s environmental policy in the case of EU-Brazil Strategic Partnership is studied by Ajda Hedžet and Dora Matejak (Chapter 6). Magdalena Rakovec and Samo Smole research the role of the EU in the environmental policies of the Arctic Council (Chapter 7) and the EU’s cooperation with Africa in the field of energy is analysed by Ana Klemen and Patrik Bole (Chapter 8).
